A devastating announcement was just made about the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton that has her supporters all over the globe praying for her.
Mad World News reported that Kate is currently on maternity leave as she prepares to give birth to her third child. Millions are praying for her, however, because she has been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, a rare condition that causes extreme nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. The vomiting can be so extreme that it can severely dehydrate the mother to the point where her baby’s life is put in danger.
The cause of this condition is not known, which means that though Kate is extremely ill when she’s pregnant, she can do little to alleviate her discomfort.
“Hyperemesis gravidarum is a condition characterized by severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss, and electrolyte disturbance,” the American Pregnancy Association states. “Mild cases are treated with dietary changes, rest, and antacids. More severe cases often require a stay in the hospital so that the mother can receive fluid and nutrition through an intravenous line (IV). DO NOT take any medications to solve this problem without first consulting your health care provider.”
Kate’s condition means that she has to take far more precautions than the average pregnant woman. That’s why she has gone on maternity leave early and has made few public appearances in the past few months.
Though her condition is very dangerous, Kate has been able to persevere through it in order to give birth to two healthy children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, with her husband Prince William. We can only hope that her third birth goes as smoothly as her first two!
Please say a prayer for Kate Middleton and her family!
