Before Donald Trump became president, he promised that like no other leader before, he would put America first. Now, he is following this promise in a huge way.
Freedom Daily reported that new reports reveal that the Trump administration has decided to stop sending any military aid to Pakistan. This move will save $255 million dollars a year to the already overloaded U.S. taxpayer.
Under the agreement with Pakistan, the Trump administration can refuse to give monetary aid as a response to its weak action against terrorists and militants on its soil.
Defense Secretary James Mattis earlier this year, suspend a $50 million aid package to Pakistan by withholding a certification that Pakistan had done enough to fight the Haqqani Network. An annual State Department report on terrorism had established that Pakistan “did not take substantial action against the Afghan Taliban or (the Haqqani Network) or substantially limit their capacity to threaten American interests in Afghanistan.”
An official with the State Department confirmed that Pakistan’s actions will eventually regulate the course of “security assistance in the future.”
The Hill reported that since took office Trump, he has been raising tension on Pakistan since. Back in August, he revealed a new U.S. strategy for the war in Afghanistan aimed at defeating the Afghan Taliban and the Haqqani Network, an affiliated group that operates in Pakistan. Meanwhile, he said Pakistan “gives safe haven to agents of chaos, violence, and terror” and vowed the administration would be harder on the country.
We’re happy that we finally have a president who is not afraid to put America first and we’re tired of taking care of countries like Pakistan who do nothing to stop the terrorist groups that want to destroy our country and nation.
